The Columbus State baseball team jumped in two national Division II polls this week after completing a three-game sweep over Saint Leo this past weekend.
CSU outscored the previously unbeaten Lions 18-5 in the series.
In the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, the Cougars moved from No. 9 to No. 5 -- the highest ranking for a Peach Belt Conference member in the poll.
The Cougars also went from No. 23 to No. 20 spot in the College Baseball Lineup poll -- the poll?s third-highest ranking in the PBC, behind No. 2 Francis Marion and No. 8 North Caroina-Pembroke.
CSU plays 4 p.m. today at Auburn-Montgomery. The Cougars? next home game is in a three-game series starting Saturday at 1 p.m. against Francis Marion.
